Melting Ice Orchestra
As can be expected with the warmer temperatures, the ice on Lake Winnipeg starts to melt and form new and interesting textures. The snow recedes to reveal stunning ice formations, ice sheets and open water channels.
If you are lucky, you will bear witness to the ice sheets breaking up into tiny crystal, floating up against the shore, conducting their own ice tinkling orchestra in the wind. Absolutely spectacular.
Eagle Migration
This is the time of year when eagles usually make their way back north. We're starting to see more eagles than we have in the past, and they're also starting to reoccupy some areas where they used to breed before the population declined.
It’s a great time of the year for bird lovers, nature photographers and wildlife lovers of all ages. These majestic birds in full flight is truly a wonder of nature and we are very fortunate to have so many of them coming back during spring.

Gimli Film Theatre
The 350 seat Gimli Theatre was in operation as early as 1945. The theatre is still in operation today showing first run attractions. It is also the host for the Gimli Film Festival each year.
