Canada Day in Gimli
🇨🇦 The countdown to Canada Day 2023, in Gimli is on! Get ready for an action-packed weekend as we invite you to join us in exploring Gimli and celebrating our nation's birthday. Mark your calendars and check out the exciting lineup of events we have planned for you!
🇨🇦 JUNE 30 Kick off the festivities with the Adam T Elvis Show, an electrifying performance that will transport you back in time. Join us from 7pm to 10pm at the Harbour Stage and groove to the rhythm of classic Elvis tunes.
🇨🇦 JULY 1ST Start the day with a burst of energy at the Free Zumba session with Jan at the Harbour Stage, from 9am to 10am. Then, satisfy your taste buds at the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, taking place from 8:00AM to 10:30AM on the grassy area near the Lake Winnipeg Visitor Centre. Don't forget to grab a good spot along the parade route, as it starts at 11AM, weaving through 6th Avenue, Center Street, 1st Avenue, and Goldfield Street.
The celebrations continue with face painting by the Gimli Art Club from 12:30PM to 3pm and Gimli's Got Talent showcasing local talent from 12:00PM to 3:00PM. Join us for the Canada Day Ceremony at 7pm, followed by a captivating performance by Main Street Exiles, a Rolling Stones Tribute band, from 7PM to 11PM. Experience the beauty of a Sunset Indigenous Ceremony at 9:00PM, and prepare to be mesmerized by the dazzling fireworks at 11PM.
🇨🇦 JULY 2nd The festivities spill over into July 2nd with the Gimli Active Trails Walk, Run, or Bike Adventure at Camp Morton Trails. Lace up your shoes, hop on your bike, and embark on an exciting outdoor adventure. Later, satisfy your cravings at the Save the Lake Fish Fry Fundraiser from 11:00AM to 3:00PM.
Join us for an immersive Indigenous Drumming ceremony from 7pm to 7:30pm, followed by an enchanting performance by Darren Lavallee and Art Gladu at the Harbour Stage. Be captivated by the soulful sounds of a Metis fiddle and jigging display during the band break from 7:30pm to 11pm.
